Lucas Paquetá capped a restorative night for Flamengo, scoring twice in a 6-0 demolition of Madureira at the Maracanã in the Carioca semi-final second leg. The brace ended his long waits for a goal at the stadium and for a two-goal haul, both stretching back to 2018.
Coluna Do Fla reports on the midfielder's standout night.
He first headed in at the Maracanã. He then added a low cross-shot into goalkeeper Neguete's corner to stretch the lead.
His previous Maracanã strike came in 2018, when Flamengo beat Atlético-MG 2-1 in Brasileirão round 26. Paquetá scored the winner with a header that wrong-footed the keeper. Emerson Royal played for Atlético-MG that day, and now shares the Flamengo dressing room with Paquetá.
His last brace came in a 3-0 win away to Corinthians in round 28. He opened the scoring with a header from a Vitinho corner, then struck again after a scramble from another set-piece.
