Fabio Paratici said Tottenham have the best training centre in the world, but he is not sure it is better than Fiorentina’s Viola Park. He was unveiled as Fiorentina’s new director today. According to Football Italia, he made the remarks at a press conference.
He revealed he decided to move to Fiorentina from Tottenham in mid-December after a meeting in London with CEO Alessandro Ferrari. The 53-year-old, formerly of Juventus and Tottenham, also touched on the club’s long-term plans and their 2025-26 struggles.
Fiorentina opened Viola Park in October 2023, the largest privately owned sports training centre in Italy and among the biggest in Europe. “Tottenham’s is the best in the world, but I’m not sure it’s better than this, and I’ve only seen some parts.”
Fiorentina sit in the relegation zone, one point from safety. They host Torino at the Stadio Franchi next Saturday, and Paratici was asked about derby feelings after 11 years at Juventus. “My derby in recent years was against Arsenal,” he replied.
“Now we must think about ourselves. It’s an important game, fundamental, like the following 15. We won’t solve the problem until May 24.”
