City will face Paris FC in the second round of qualifying for the 2024/25 UEFA Women's Champions League.

We were matched with the French outfit during Monday's draw in Nyon and will now face the Premiere Ligue third-placed side for a spot in the 16-team group stage.

After last season's runners-up finish in the Barclays Women's Super League, this tie represents our return to Europe's elite competition after a two-year absence.

We'll travel to the French capital for the first leg on 18 or 19 September before returning to the Joie Stadium the following week to complete the clash, with match dates and times to be confirmed in due course.

Here we take a closer look at the side we'll face...

2023/24 performance

Our opponents finished third in the Premiere Ligue - the top tier of women's football in France.

They picked up 42 points from 22 games, winning 13 times. That left them 19 points behind champions Lyon.

In the 2023/24 Champions League, they finished third in their group behind Chelsea and BK Hacken - picking up seven points from six games.

That came after a 5-3 aggregate success over Wolfsburg in the second round of qualifying and penalties win over Arsenal in the first round.

Manager

Sandrine Soubeyrand is the most capped player in France's history, representing her country 198 times in midfield.

She retired as a player in 2014 before moving into coaching as part of the national team's youth setup.

Soubeyrand has been in charge at Paris FC since 2018, re-establishing the club as one of France's best.

Stadium

Paris FC play their home matches at the 18,850 capacity Stade Robert Bobin in Bondoufle to the south of the capital city.

The stadium has an athletics track around the pitch, having previously hosted the national championships in track and field.

Record against English teams

Paris FC have played three matches against English sides, winning one and losing two.

They beat Arsenal on penalties last September to progress through the first stage of Champions League qualifying.

They were then drawn against Chelsea in the group stage, losing 4-1 away from home before a 4-0 defeat back in France.
