Paris Saint-Germain have hit a stumbling block in contract talks with winger Bradley Barcola, according to L’Equipe.

Les Parisiens are working to extend Barcola’s contract, which runs until 2028, by an additional two years.

However, negotiations have stalled as the player and his representatives are undecided on the proposed terms.

The Frenchman, who joined PSG from Olympique Lyonnais in 2023, has rapidly established himself as a key figure under manager Luis Enrique.

He bagged 21 goals and 18 assists across all competitions last season.

Barcola has started all but one match this term, further solidifying his position after teammates Ousmane Dembele and Desire Doue were sidelined for several weeks.

Despite the club’s strong desire to lock Barcola down with a lucrative new deal, he appears keen on weighing up his options before deciding on his long-term future.

This cautious approach has created a deadlock in talks, causing frustration within the PSG’s hierarchy, led by sporting advisor Luis Campos.

PSG’s urgency to finalise the deal stems from the interest Barcola has drawn from Europe’s elite clubs, particularly Bayern Munich.

They view Barcola as a potential successor to compatriot Kingsley Coman after his departure.

Liverpool and Arsenal have also been linked with the French international. PSG have previously rejected offers and cautioned suitors, making it clear they want to keep Barcola.

However, contract talks remain at an impasse as Barcola evaluates his options. PSG are hopeful that an agreement will be reached soon.
