Inter Milan center-back Manuel Akanji stressed the importance of last night’s Serie A triumph over Parma.
Speaking to DAZN via FCInterNews, the Swiss star refused to hide his excitement for taking all three points at the Ennio Tardini.
Cristian Chivu claimed a precious 2-0 win on his return to Emilia-Romagna, hours after Napoli’s 2-2 home draw against Hellas Verona.
Therefore, the San Siro giants have stretched their lead at the top of the table to four points.
However, AC Milan will be looking to restore their deficit to one point when they face Genoa at home tonight.
Meanwhile, Inter made it six league wins in a row last night.
Furthermore, Manuel Akanji helped his side register their ninth clean sheet in 18 top-flight matches this term.
It’s also worth noting that Parma couldn’t attempt a single shot on target, though Jacob Ondrejka hit the post in the first half.

“I’m very happy with the three points,” Akanji said after the game. “They had just one chance, unlike us.
“We created several opportunities that we didn’t always take. I think we played a good game, and I’m really pleased,” he confirmed.
Asked whether he is one of the most influential Nerazzurri stars, Akanji replied: “That’s not a question for me, but for the coach.
“I want to be a solution for him and for my teammates, and I try to give my all. Am I too humble? Yes, actually I am.”
Then, he identified one crucial difference between the Premier League and Serie A.
“Obviously, there’s more space in the Premier League, so you can score a few more goals.
“Today, for example, there was very little space after it went 1–0.”
Finally, he joked about his hairstyle, comparing it to Marcus Thuram’s.
“For the next match, I’ll have a different hairstyle. It’s different from Marcus’.”
