Parma have confirmed that first-choice goalkeeper Zion Suzuki has suffered a serious hand injury that could keep him sidelined for around three months, a blow that comes just as the Japanese international continues to attract interest from abroad, including Premier League side Chelsea.
A medical bulletin released by the club revealed that Suzuki sustained a displaced fracture of the third finger and the scaphoid bone in his left hand, with surgery now being considered.

Should he undergo the operation, the 23-year-old would be expected to return between February and March, missing roughly a third of the season.
The goalkeeper’s absence leaves Parma with a difficult decision, to rely on backup goalkeeper Edoardo Corvi or turn to the free-agent market for an emergency replacement.
The injury, suffered during the match against Milan, will see him miss key fixtures against the likes of Inter, Napoli, and Juventus.

Suzuki, who joined Parma in 2024 and quickly became one of Serie A’s most promising goalkeepers, has been linked with a possible move to Chelsea in recent months as part of the club’s search for long-term depth in goal.
