Sunderland, Leeds United and Fulham are being linked with Parma centre-back Mariano Troilo.
According to ParmaLive, Fulham have already shown interest and were willing to offer around £17m, a proposal that was rejected, and Parma would only consider serious talks above that figure.
Troilo joined Parma from Belgrano last summer in his first season outside South America. After a slow start in Serie A, he impressed in the second half and made 17 league starts. A standout display came in Parma’s 1-0 win at AC Milan at San Siro, which is when Fulham’s interest is said to have emerged.
Leeds and Sunderland are now also in the frame, though no fresh bids are understood to have arrived. The Italian club are not rushing to sell, with Troilo seen as important to Carlos Cuesta’s project.
There is a belief his value could rise next season, so suitors may judge this summer the right time to act. Parma have a record of selling at the right price, with several players attracting interest across Europe.
