Manchester United produced a scintillating 4-1 win over Bournemouth to continue their winning ways in the Premier League Summer Series.
Coming off a 2-1 win over West Ham, Man United continued their fine form with an even more decisive victory over the Cherries in Chicago.
While several players showed promise, Patrick Dorgu was a standout performer, scoring a goal and grabbing an assist.
Named player of the match, the wing-back voiced his opinion on manager Ruben Amorim and the effectiveness of his methods.
“It was good that the team gave a good performance to the fans. Pre-season is helping everyone to understand Ruben’s ideas even more.” Dorgu explained during his post-match interview.
As the Dane explained, it was a standout performance from United, who dominated the flow of play throughout the match.
Still, the praise from Dorgu to Amorim did not go unreciprocated.
“I’m really impressed with Patrick Dorgu,” Amorim admitted in his own post-match interview.
While the pre-season got off to a slow start with a goalless draw against Leeds United, Amorim’s squad has shown consistent improvement since.
They enjoyed a 2-1 win over West Ham United in their first Premier League Summer Series match, showing plenty of attacking momentum on the night.
Tonight, however, United’s aggression up front reaped even bigger rewards, with the Red Devils doubling their goal tally.
The final match of their US tour comes against Everton on Sunday, with a Summer Series victory within their grasp.
If Dorgu’s words are anything to go by, Amorim’s tactics are certainly coming together, making United more lethal than they’ve ever been since his arrival at Old Trafford midway through last season.
