Paul Pogba, 33, has taken part in Monaco training with the first team as he edges towards a return after a calf problem.

According to Get French Football News, the midfielder worked with team-mates during Friday's session in La Turbie and was on the ball.

La Pioche’s long-awaited comeback followed a two-year absence and arrived in late November. He made three brief substitute outings, the last in a 1-0 defeat to Stade Brestois on 5th December.

He has not featured since because of the calf injury. In late February, Sébastien Pocognoli said he hoped Pogba would rejoin the group before the international break, with the objective of integrating him into matchday squads after it.

Friday’s involvement suggests he is on that timetable. After around three months out, he is not in contention to face Olympique Lyonnais this weekend.
