Paulo Cesar Salomão Filho has resigned from all positions at Vasco after being appointed a desembargador at the Rio de Janeiro Regional Electoral Court, TRE-RJ.

According to Globo.com, he submitted his resignation letter on 16 December and no longer holds any club roles. Under Brazil’s judiciary statute, LOMAN, his new post bars him from serving on a company board or in a club leadership role.

He will take up a vacancy reserved for jurists, appointed by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

Renato Brito Neto, the second general vice-president, now assumes the role on the board.

Salomão was a central figure in the Pedrinho administration’s successful bid for a preliminary injunction in May last year to suspend 777 from control of the SAF. He also sat on the SAF board.
