Flamengo dominated April’s Brasileirão awards, with Pedro named Player of the Month and Rossi recognised as the best goalkeeper, underscoring their push for the league’s summit, according to Coluna Do Fla.
Leading the line, Pedro scored five goals and supplied one assist across five matches, shining in wins over Santos, Fluminense, Bahia and Atlético-MG. His surge took him to 168 goals for Flamengo, the club’s top scorer of the 21st century.
He said the accolade capped a very positive month for him and the squad, and that he shares it with team-mates and the fanbase. Pedro now ranks sixth on Flamengo’s all-time scoring list.
At the other end, Rossi was ever present through April and pivotal as the side strung together four victories. The Argentine has passed 170 appearances and holds Flamengo’s record streak of 1,134 minutes without conceding.
He credited daily work with goalkeeping coaches Andrew and Dyogo, saying their focus is to provide security at the back and give the team confidence to keep chasing wins. The individual awards reflect Flamengo’s strong collective start to this Brasileirão.
