Pedro equals Gabigol record in Flamengo v Santos with ex-team-mate on bench | OneFootball

Pedro scored against Santos on Sunday, moving to 161 Flamengo goals and drawing level with Gabigol as the club's top scorer of the century. Gabigol, now with Santos, was among the Santos substitutes.

As reported by Coluna Do Fla, the meeting reunited former strike partners who shared the Flamengo attack for four years.

The goal also made Pedro the sixth highest scorer in Flamengo's history. He is joint fourth for goals at the Maracanã with 112, level with Doval, the Argentine who starred for Flamengo and Fluminense in the 1970s.

Before facing Santos, Pedro had gone three matches without scoring. His previous goal came in the 3-0 win over Botafogo at Nilton Santos on 19 March in the Campeonato Brasileiro.

Over time, Gabigol featured more often from the bench while Pedro kept his starting role. Unhappy with that shift, Gabigol accepted an offer from Cruzeiro at the start of 2025 and now plays for Santos.
