Paris Saint-Germain have been keeping a close eye on Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich for several months, with reports from Germany indicating a transfer was nearly finalized last summer.

As the January transfer window nears, one Premier League club may attempt to swoop in for the experienced midfielder to address their struggles.

Meanwhile, Barcelona have also shown interest in Kimmich, as well as Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah, as they aim to bolster their midfield and defense for the 2025 season.

According to journalists Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl, Bayern Munich have halted efforts to convince Kimmich to accept a pay cut on his €20 million annual salary. With his contract set to expire next year and growing interest from top clubs, it seems unlikely he would agree to a reduced deal.

According to TBRFootball, manager Pep Guardiola has reportedly given the green light for Manchester City to pursue Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich.

With his contract set to expire next summer, City could secure the midfielder on a free transfer but might aim to finalize an agreement as early as January.

While the club is eyeing potential moves during the winter transfer window, the report suggests Kimmich would likely be a summer acquisition.

The Mirror recently reported that Guardiola will have a significant £200 million budget for the upcoming January transfer window. Part of this sum could be used to target Kimmich, whose contract with his current club is set to run out in less than seven months.

Guardiola and the 29-year-old midfielder share a history from their time together at Bayern Munich, and the report hints that the Catalan coach is keen to work with him again.
