Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is jetting out to his home city once a week to save his marriage with Cristina Serra, according to reports in Spain.

The change in personal circumstances for the Manchester City coach comes at a crucial phase in the club’s season as they continue to battle for a top-five place in the Premier League and UEFA Champions League qualification.

City have also secured themselves a place in the 2025 FA Cup Final – the third year in a row in which they have reached that phase of the competition – courtesy of a 0-2 win over Nottingham Forest at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.

Off the field, while things have not been too much easier on it, Pep Guardiola has been privately handling personal matters involving his wife Cristina Serra after reports in January from Spain claimed the pair had separated after 30 years together.

Guardiola and Serra were said to have remained ‘cordial, stable, and friendly’, with no one else involved in the split and certainly no third party despite speculation on social media. Now, a new update has emerged.

According to the exclusive information of Maria Lapiedra reporting to EN Blau VIP, Cristina Serra and Pep Guardiola are ‘giving each other a second chance’, with all now not lost in their marriage.

It is further detailed that throughout April, the pair have been together with Guardiola spending the night in the upper part of Barcelona, with both continuing to display their wedding rings in public.

The report also reveals that the Manchester City manager has now ‘made a serious commitment’ to his wife by promising to take a private jet made available to him by the club once a week to fly to Barcelona to spend quality time with Cristina Serra.

Pep Guardiola nor Cristina Serra have commented on the matter publicly, although have been spotted in the Barcelona region since reports of their split first emerged in Spanish media earlier this year.

On the pitch, Manchester City and Pep Guardiola will resume their own duties later this week as they prepare to return to Premier League action with a home clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Etihad Stadium on Friday night.
