Former AC Milan striker Olivier Giroud has sent a message to the Rossoneri ahead of tonight’s Derby della Madonnina. Although he’s in Los Angeles now, he still has a red and black heart.
Giroud played for Milan between 2021 and 2024, joining the club at the age of 34. In his first season, he won the Scudetto with the Rossoneri and one game was decisive, namely the 2-1 win against Inter in the derby.
It was three years ago almost to the day (February 5) and it was Giroud who scored both of Milan’s goals. The chant “Si è girato Giroud” was born shortly thereafter and on his Instagram profile, the Frenchman remember the iconic moment ahead of tonight’s game.
“Three years ago. Sempre Milan, Forza ragazzi,” he wrote.
Tammy Abraham will be the starting striker for Milan tonight and to reach Giroud’s level, he still has some work to do. Above all, the finishing has been a problem and this is something that the Frenchman was really good at.
