Inter Milan star forward Lautaro Martinez received a long-overdue award for the Serie A ‘Player of the Year’ after a superb 2023/24 season.

Martinez carried Simone Inzaghi’s side to their 20th Scudetto last term.

As the division’s most prolific player, with 24 goals, he enjoyed his most impressive campaign at Giuseppe Meazza.

Last night, Serie A rewarded El Toro for his brilliance.

Shortly after attending the AIC Grand Gala ceremony, the 27-year-old took to Instagram to celebrate his achievement.

“It has been a great honor for me to receive this award,” he wrote.

“Thanks mainly to my teammates, to all the staff who work with us every day.

“And also thanks to everyone who voted for me.

“One always looks ahead to continue growing and to achieve the group objectives, which are the most important focus to later win individual awards as well.”
