After Al Ittihad’s 2-1 victory over Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr in the King’s Cup Round of 16, captain Karim Benzema ignited debate by reposting fan made photo on Instagram that appeared to carry subtle message.

The image shared by popular Al Ittihad supporters page showed Benzema celebrating his opening goal with Ronaldo visibly disappointed standing in the foreground watching.

Many interpreted the post as thinly veiled jab at his former Real Madrid teammate.
