Arsenal fan Piers Morgan then seeing his team lose to Man U on penalties, despite having a man advantage for over an hour.

Piers Morgan in no doubt as to his team’s biggest weakness and crying for this to be fixed.

The Arsenal fan declaring “I would literally go right now with a barrel-load of cash and drive to Newcastle and break the bank to sign Alexander Isak. £100million, £120m, £140m, £150m – I don’t care. I will find the players from our 87 defenders that we’ve signed in the last two years to make up the cash for the PSR stuff.’

Piers Morgan missing one small detail, why on earth would Alexander Isak want to leave Newcastle United for Arsenal???

Actually, make that two small details, why on earth would Newcastle United sell their best player and star striker/goalscorer, especially when he has three and a half years left on his contract???

Newcastle United had a PSR emergency at the end of June 2024 when needing to sell young squad players Anderson and Minteh to stay within the three season limit. That PSR emergency was caused by the desperate need to rebuild the team/squad after a decade and a half of Mike Ashley, the investment in the likes of Gordon, Trippier, Burn, Botman, Pope, Livramento, Pope, Hall, Tonali, Barnes and… Alexander Isak, eventually catching up with them.

That PSR emergency has now passed and whilst of course the financial rules restrict United, as they do all clubs to varying extents, there is absolutely no need for Eddie Howe to sell any of his star players.

Instead, in these 2025 transfer windows, United will be looking to sell non-essential first team squad players, to help bring in other first team contenders.

However, you have to laugh at Piers Morgan and all the others who are so arrogant in thinking Arsenal, or indeed any club, could successfully take Alexander Isak away from St James’ Park in this transfer window.

Reality is that there is zero chance of this happening and instead Isak will be key to Newcastle United’s chances of a return to the Champions League via the Premier League this season, plus still competing for two cups, one of which they are only 90 minutes from Wembley,, currently 2-0 up at ‘half-time’ against Piers Morgan’s fading Gunners…

Arsenal fan Piers Morgan speaking on Talksport – 13 January 2025:

“I would literally go right now with a barrel-load of cash and drive to Newcastle and break the bank to sign Alexander Isak.

“£100million, £120m, £140m, £150m – I don’t care. I will find the players from our 87 defenders that we’ve signed in the last two years to make up the cash for the PSR stuff.

“The way we play, the chances we create – do you know how many shots we’ve had this week? 49 shots.

“Do you know how many goals we’ve scored? One. Do you know who scored it? Gabriel, a central defender.

“If that doesn’t tell you something, I don’t know what does.

“We do not have a proper striker and one of our two makeshift strikers in Gabriel Jesus now looks like he’s out for the season which is heartbreaking for him after the last injury and I feel incredibly sorry for him.

“The idea that Kai Havertz will be the guy to win us big trophies leading the line for Arsenal is for the birds and every Arsenal fan knows it.

“Why doesn’t Mikel Arteta know it? Why does he entrust everything in this guy who is a perfectly good footballer, but he’s not a number nine. He’s not a striker.

“If you want to win big trophies and be ruthless you’ve got to sign the best players.

“And right now Isak is the best striker in Europe.
