Benfica remain in pursuit of Italian striker Lorenzo Lucca, but a surprise Serie A option could complicate their plans.
According to Glorioso 1904, Italian reports point to Pisa, promoted to Serie A this year, as a contender to sign the Napoli forward.
The club are viewed as the latest suitor for Napoli’s number 27, who wants a fresh start. Staying in Italy is gaining traction, which could dent Benfica’s hopes of landing the 25-year-old.
Lucca is said to see Pisa as an opportunity to be first choice, rather than compete with Vangelis Pavlidis for a place at Benfica.
Pisa still face heavyweight competition. In Italy, Juventus and Lazio have shown interest, Nottingham Forest are trying to sign him in England, while Al Hilal want a loan.
This season for Napoli, Lucca has played 22 times, 16 in Serie A, four in the Champions League, one in the Super Cup and one in the Italian Cup. He has 585 minutes and two goals, is valued at 25 million euros and is under contract until June 2028.
