Southampton edged Leicester after extra time to reach round five of the FA Cup in their third meeting of the season. Sainstmarching.com provides the player ratings for a youthful Saints side.
Saints made 10 changes and finished with five under-21s. Ryan Manning made a goal-line clearance before half-time. Cyle Larin then converted from the spot on the stroke of the interval after Samuel Edozie’s driving run was halted.
Oliver Skipp levelled with an overhead kick in the 52nd minute. Kuryu Matsuki had a shot parried and Cameron Archer could not force in the rebound.
Leicester pressed late on, only for Joshua Quarshie to clear from beneath his own crossbar in added time. The tie remained 1-1 at full-time.
Nineteen minutes into extra time James Bree headed in after a Ryan Manning free-kick was diverted. Southampton held firm to progress to round five. Edozie was named player of the match.
