Bayern Munich dismantled Atalanta 6-1 in Bergamo in the Champions League round of 16 first leg, with Michael Olise the standout. According to Football Italia, the French winger topped the player ratings as Vincent Kompany’s side overpowered La Dea.

Atalanta conceded three inside 25 minutes and never recovered. Bayern’s haul came via Josip Stanisic, two from Olise, then Serge Gnabry, Nicolas Jackson and Jamal Musiala, before Mario Pasalic hit a late consolation.

Zappacosta was named Atalanta’s best performer with six, busy on the right and diligent in defence. Young wing-back Bernasconi received four after a torrid evening against Olise, who is suspended for next week’s return.

Coach Raffaele Palladino was marked at three, his switch to a back four backfiring and prompting two half-time changes. Missing Ederson, Charles De Ketelaere and Giacomo Raspadori, Atalanta also looked short of ideas on the ball.

Olise earned nine for a thrilling display, repeatedly terrifying the defence when cutting in on his left. Kompany scored eight for a ruthless, controlled performance, his choice of Gnabry over Musiala adding unpredictability as Bayern handled the man-to-man plan and did so without Harry Kane.

Bischof was Bayern’s lowest mark with six after a missed challenge and failure to track back for Pasalic’s goal, soon after his introduction, with Alphonso Davies already on at half-time. The second leg is next week.
