Here are our Bayern player ratings from the game:

Bayern Munich Starting XI Player Ratings:

GK: Manuel Neuer - 7/10

Bayern's captain exuded calmness, but was not really tested throughout the game. Neuer could not do much about the goal from Chelsea's Cole Palmer, which was by far their best attack in the whole game.

RB: Konrad Laimer - 8/10

Hid his opponents in his pockets for most of the game. Was energetic on the right hand side, but couldn't convert a great chance, assisted by Olise. Played most of the second half as left-back, as Josip Stanišić had to come off early due to an injury.

CB: Dayot Upamecano - 7/10

A good performance from the French international. He seems to have fully found his rhythm and standing in the team and builds a good working duo with Jonathan Tah. Upamecano was also heavily involved in Bayern's first goal, basically forcing opponent Chalobah into making an own-goal.

CB: Jonathan Tah - 5/10

Played a solid game, especially in arial duels. However, looked stiff in Chelsea's counter attack, which led to their only goal in the game. Got subbed off at half time due to a yellow card.

LB: Josip Stanišić - 6/10

Brought some good energy into the game and could not do much when Cole Palmer scored his goal. Looked calm and smart on the ball, but had to come off injured after an air-duel.

CDM: Joshua Kimmich - 7/10

Dropped in deep between the high pressing centre-backs and did his job well, as usual. His performances are always at a very high level, though - that's why performances like tonight will be remembered as solid, but not special.

CDM: Aleksandar Pavlović - 6/10

Got into the team ahead of Leon Goretzka - Kompany sees him as the better deep-lying playmaker, which helped against a constantly pressing Chelsea side.

RM: Michael Olise - 8.5/10

Maybe Bayern's best player of the game. Olise looked very sharp, but also quite elegant on the ball. His ideas work out almost every time, be that a slick through ball, a hard drilled low-cross or his own shot attempt. Kompany sees “Superstar potential” in him.

CAM: Serge Gnabry - 7/10

Had to drop in deep to help destroy Chelsea's pressing plans. Was very much involved in many attacks, had the first good chance of the game. His movements are great for Kane, Olise and Díaz - Gnabry continues his great form.

LM: Luis Díaz - 5/10

Tried his luck in every position in attack, sometimes through the middle but mainly on the left hand side. Had a good chance, but his shot was too central to be a problem for Chelsea's goalkeeper. Not his best performance in a Bayern kit, but also not a bad performance at all.

ST: Harry Kane - 9/10

UEFA's “Man Of The Match” of this game against Chelsea. Like Gnabry, Kane was often found deep in Bayern's defensive set-up in order to crash Chelsea's pressing tactics. Kane also showed a great move before receiving a penaly - and scored twice into the bottom right corner. He could be on his way to break his Champions League record of scoring more than 11 goals in one campaign.
