After months of waiting, Inter Miami finally earned its first win at home with a tough 2-0 victory over the Portland Timbers.

The win couldn’t have come at a better time or against a fitting opponent. With the World Cup break just around the corner, the Herons managed to not only earn three points, but also against the club’s former head coach, Phil Neville.

Goals from Lionel Messi and German Beterame sealed the deal for the Men in Pink, who are currently top of the Eastern Conference standings at the time of writing.

Here are Player Ratings from Miami’s first win at home against the Portland Timbers.

*I’ll rate every player on a scale of 1 to 10, with 5-6 being average/below average. For the substitutes, I’ll judge accordingly. *

Dayne St. Clair - 7: Kept a clean sheet, which was long overdue!

Sergio Reguilon- 6.4 : Looked solid and did well to contribute to the attack.

Micael - 7.2: Another solid game from the center back! I still think that his ideal defensive partner is Lujan, but that’s another conversation for another day.

Gonzalo Lujan - 7: Like Micael, did well to keep the clean sheet!

Ian Fray -  7.2: Did well to stymie Portland’s attack and get forward offensively.

Midfield

Telasco Segovia - 7.4: His chemistry with De Paul and Bright is a pleasure to watch, and I’m glad it’s continuing to swell.

Rodrigo De Paul - 7.8: Solid game by him! Ended the match with five chances created and 10 recoveries

Yannick Bright - 8: Probably the most important midfielder Miami has on its roster.

Attack

Luis Suarez - 6.7: Had some good link-up play but a rather quiet night for him.

Lionel Messi - 9: Got a goal and an assist. Great night for him.

German Berterame - 8: Glad to see him score again!

Substitutes:

Facundo Mura - 6.5: Love his willingness to get forward. Did well to put pressure on Portland’s backline to prevent them from getting forward.

Daniel Pinter  - 7: Loved the offensive aggressiveness!

David Ayala - N/A: Did not play long enough to warrant a rating.

Preston Plembeck - N/A: Did not play long enough to warrant a rating.
