This is according to Aftonbladet, who believe the Pilgrims have been closely monitoring the player's situation, ahead of a potential move for him during the January transfer window.

Plymouth made some promising moves during the summer transfer window to strengthen their squad, with Ibrahim Cissoko shining during the early stages of his stay at Home Park.

Unfortunately, he's currently on the sidelines, but his contributions have helped the Pilgrims to escape the relegation zone up to this point.

It's no secret, however, that Plymouth have a big task on their hands to stay afloat in the Championship beyond the end of this season, having only just escaped the drop at the end of last term.

And it could be important for the Pilgrims to add more quality and depth to their squad during the January transfer window to maximise their chances of staying up.

Plymouth Argyle considering Fredrick Hammar offer

Aftonbladet have reported that Plymouth have been scouting Hammar over the Autumn period - and have seemingly been impressed by what they have seen.

Having seen enough of Hammar and collected enough information about him, it has been reported that this scouting mission has now come to a conclusion.

The Championship side are now considering whether to make an offer for the 23-year-old, who would reportedly welcome a potential approach from the Devon outfit.

The January window opens in a month and a half - and it remains to be seen whether a bid will come in for him.

With his contract not expiring until December 2027, Plymouth may have to fork out a considerable amount to lure him to Home Park, and another factor that could push his price tag up is the fact other teams are keen on a move for the player.

The Pilgrims may have to move quickly to get a deal over the line for the 23-year-old, who is a key player in his current team and has represented Sweden at a youth international level.

Hammar is already a real asset in the Swedish top division at 23, which suggests that he could be a good player to have in the English second tier.

Considering his age, he should only grow into a better player in the next few years, and it will be interesting to see whether Neil Dewsnip (pictured above) will make an offer and potentially be successful in getting a deal over the line.

The fact his contract doesn't expire for a long time could make things difficult for the Pilgrims, as well as interest from other clubs, but the player's reported stance on a move to Home Park is a positive.

He clearly isn't someone who's going to make huge contributions in the final third, judging by his stats in recent seasons, but his presence in the middle of the park could help to keep Argyle up at the expense of the likes of Queens Park Rangers and Portsmouth.
