Former Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder Emmanuel Petit has urged Paul Pogba to join Premier League side Arsenal when he eventually leaves Juventus, as he ‘will do anything’ to clear his name after missing the last year and a half of competitive action through suspension.
Pogba is still under contract with Juventus until the summer of 2026, but he is not currently involved with the Bianconeri squad, nor is he expected to at any point under Thiago Motta.
The Frenchman was originally handed a four-year suspension after he failed a post-match doping test in the summer of 2023, which was later reduced to just 18 months, meaning that he will be eligible to return in early 2025.
As he looks poised to leave Juventus, possibly by mutual termination of his contract, there have been plenty of rumours circulating about his potential next destination.
While some feel that he is best-suited to the MLS, former Arsenal midfielder Petit has encouraged Arsenal to take a punt on the 2018 World Cup winner.
“Honestly, Arsenal should take a punt by signing Paul Pogba,” Petit said, reported via Tuttosport. “He will give everything on the pitch. It will take a few weeks for him to get fully fit, but he will be so eager to clear his name.”

He continued: “Pogba fits perfectly into the Arsenal midfield, he is tall, strong and very creative.
“Pogba will become a free agent at the age of 32 and I can’t remember the last time I saw him smiling. He wants revenge, he wants to prove to himself and to the fans around the world that he is not finished yet.
“We all know how happy he usually is and I think Arteta and Arsenal can offer him that.”
