Speaking to Inter TV just minutes before kick-off at Marassi, the Poland international acknowledged the difficulty of the task awaiting the Nerazzurri.

Particularly against an opponent enjoying a strong run of form on home soil.

“This is a difficult ground, not just for us,” Zielinski admitted, with quotes via FCInterNews.

“We have to be focused and give everything to win this match.”

Inter arrive in Genoa following a draining schedule and a setback against Liverpool, but Zielinski was keen to shut down any attempt to use fatigue as an excuse.

The midfielder underlined the depth within Cristian Chivu’s squad.

He stressed the responsibility is on every player to be ready when called upon.

“We have a big squad,” he explained.

“Playing every three days is certainly not easy, but it’s not an excuse. We’re always ready and focused.”

The former Napoli man made it clear that the match represents an immediate opportunity to turn the page after the European defeat.

“We want to redeem the loss against Liverpool and this is a great opportunity,” Zielinski stressed, highlighting the importance of mentality as much as tactics.

Indeed, on a personal level, the midfielder also provided reassurance about his physical condition.

After a career that has included several injury setbacks.

Asked how he was feeling, Zielinski replied with confidence. “I’m doing well physically and mentally,” he said.

“In the past I’ve had many injuries, more or less serious. I’ve always had some small issues. However, now I’m fine and I want to give my contribution.”
