Northumbria Police said they have released images of seven men they want to trace after reports of disorder linked to the Tyne-Wear derby.
Officers were alerted following the Newcastle United v Sunderland fixture at St James' Park on Sunday, March 22, to pockets of trouble in the city centre.
Police said videos posted on social media appeared to show aggressive behaviour, objects thrown in crowded areas, and damage to property. Those involved were believed to have left the area, and the incidents remain under investigation.
On 20 May officers issued images of seven men they wish to identify in connection with the reports. They are thought to have been in the area at the time and may have information that could assist.
The men pictured, or anyone who recognises them, are asked to contact Northumbria Police via direct message on social media or through live chat and report forms on the force website. Alternatively, call 101 quoting reference NP-20260322-0216.
The force said its policing response was proportionate, three arrests were made on the day, and the event largely passed without incident.
Sunderland won 2-1.
