Populaire Sud de Nice condemns SNCF over cancelled trains for Coupe de France final | OneFootball

According to L'Équipe, La Populaire Sud, the main OGC Nice supporters’ group, issued a statement on Wednesday condemning SNCF’s decision to cancel trains intended to carry thousands of fans to the Stade de France for the Coupe de France final against Lens on Friday 22 May, 21:00.

The announcement, coming 10 days before the showpiece in Paris, sparked anger among Nice supporters who had planned to travel by rail.

The group argued that asking a supporter to pay more than 350 euros to follow their club was not transport but amounted to social contempt.

They also took aim at elected officials and politicians, saying public speeches were merely for show and that, when concrete action was required to defend supporters, nobody was present.

As a consequence, the collective said it would be unable to deliver the planned tifo for the final, adding that they would arrive in Paris when and where they choose.
