Portsmouth are keen to bolster their forward line for the new Championship season
Portsmouth are set for a busy summer ahead of the new Championship campaign.
Pompey will be keen to improve their first team squad, as they set their sights on climbing the second division table under John Mousinho.
The Hampshire outfit finished 18th in the previous campaign, avoiding relegation by eight points, earning 55 in total.
This will be the club’s third year back at this level after gaining promotion from League One in 2024, and having earned a 16th place finish in 2025.
Portsmouth will have their sights set on closing the gap to the teams in the top half of the table, and avoiding falling down into a relegation scrap.
With the transfer window open until 1 September, it’s likely they will be quite active in the next couple of months.

It has been reported by The News that Portsmouth are working on a deal to sign Marko Milovanovic from Spanish side UD Almeria.
The two clubs are in talks over a deal, but no agreement has yet been struck after an initial offer worth £2.5 million was rejected.
It’s believed that an asking price of £4.4 million has been set, with a 10 percent sell-on clause also likely to be part of any bid.
Reports from Spanish journalist Antonio Martinez have claimed that a deal is likely to be agreed at this stage, with the final figure expected to be above the €3.5 (£3) million they paid to sign the player four years ago.
The 22-year-old spent last season on loan with Portuguese side Alverca, where he contributed nine goals and two assists from 31 league appearances.
Portsmouth fans are excited by the club’s transfer business in these early stages of the summer window, and that Milovanovic is the kind of signing the team has needed for a number of years.
Despite missing out on the signing of Luke Graham to Stoke City, fans are still positive that bringing in the Serbian would be a good start to the transfer market.
And missing out on the Scot to their Championship rivals has some concerned about not getting this deal done, given how long negotiations are taking, with the recruitment team now under pressure to get the move completed.
Portsmouth will begin the new campaign at home against QPR on 15 August.

It’s obvious that Portsmouth need to reinforce their striker options for next season given how light on goals they’ve been as a team in the last 12 months.
Adrien Segecic was the top scorer with just 10 last season, and the next best was Terry Devlin’s tally of only five.
The 22-year-old is still young and has room to improve in his game, which continues with Pompey’s recent strategy of focusing on talent with potential.
And his performances in the Portuguese top flight last season showed that he knows how to find the back of the net, so this is a deal with some promise for Portsmouth.
