Cristiano Ronaldo still knows where the goal is
Portugal v PolandFriday 19:45
In Brussels last night, Italy got the win, but 1-0 wasn't enough to deliver on the other side of our bet.
We're in Porto today for the Group A1 Nations League game between Portugal and Poland. The hosts won the reverse fixture 3-1 last month and start this one as heavy favourites...
Poland conceded another three goals on their most recent outing, a 3-3 draw at home to Croatia. They are W1-D1-L2 overall and sit third in the group, three points behind the second-placed Croats.
Portugal are top of the table, having gone W3-D1-L0 to this point. Their two home games so far have brought a pair of 2-1 wins over Croatia and Scotland. The Portuguese are W9-D1-L2 all time at home in this competition, only losing to France and Spain.
Portugal have injuries at the back, but we'd still fancy them to beat a Polish side missing Robert Lewandowski, especially because the Poles have been shaky at the back themselves, conceding nine times across their four A1 outings so far.
Cristiano Ronaldo plays in games like this now with one focus: his personal goals tally. He's bagged three in the group already, having fired in 17 shots. With Poland needing something from this game to stand any chance of getting out of the group, the veteran is likely to get chances at some stage. For an odds-against punt, we'll take Portugal to win, Ronaldo to score and Over 2.5 Goals.
