Predicted team to face Tottenham: Enzo Maresca wheels out the big guns, with one big question mark

It’s been almost 3 weeks since Chelsea last played a game, and we’re absolutely itching to see the Blues in action again.

It’s a really fascinating game – in part because of the long break since our last fixture. There are a lot of factors at play – it’s a derby, there are numerous injured players back and ready to start, and it has a huge amount riding on it considering yesterday’s results saw Chelsea dropping out of the top 5 finish necessary to qualify for the Champions League.

So who does Enzo Maresca pick for such a game? It’s tough to guess, given the players coming back from injury, but we’d assume it will be something like this.

Enzo Maresca able to pick super strong Chelsea team

Robert Sanchez has secured his place in goal back – we desperately need a strong finish to the season from the dodgy keeper extraordinaire.

At the back, it should be a simple Levi Colwill and Wesley Fofana partnership at centre back, with Marc Cucurella at left back and Reece James on the right. But would it surprise us at all if Enzo Maresca went with Fofana at right back and James in midfield, with Tosin or Benoit Badiashile coming into the centre? Not at all.

In midfield, Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo will have benefitted from an extra week of rest compared to a normal international break and should be ready to start.

Ahead of them, Cole Palmer is fit and hopefully has used the break to rest and relax and find some form.

Out wide, we expect Noni Madueke to return to the team following injury on one side, with Pedro Neto on the other.

Nicolas Jackson is the key returning piece after two months out. We don’t have any time to wait for him to get up to speed, he needs to perform right off the bat.
