Chelsea take on Manchester United later today in a game we’re really excited about.
The Blues have had some softer fixtures in the league then a really hard trip to the Allianz Arena in the Champions League so far this season. This is what we want – a tough away game against a beatable team where we can really check the level of Enzo Maresca’s team.
Unlike some of our league opposition so far, United will be forced to come out an attack us a little, which should help us in attack.
Here’s the side we think Maresca will put out, balancing form and fitness.

In goal we all know it will be Robert Sanchez, that’s a given.
Reece James’ start in midweek probably means he won’t be considered today – expected Malo Gusto with James appearing early in the second half. In the centre of defence, Wesley Fofana should be fit to start and we reckon today is the day he’s dropped in, likely alongside Trevoh Chalobah. Marc Cucurella will play at left back.
In midfield, it’s a guarantee that Enzo Fernandez starts and almost as certain that Moises Caicedo starts alongside him, despite so many minutes already accumulated this season.
The big question is whether Cole Palmer starts. We reckon he’s more injured than Maresca is letting on, so we think he’s on the bench, with Estevao Willian on one flank and then Alejandro Garnacho starting his first Chelsea game in a controversial return to Old Trafford.
Joao Pedro has to lead the line once again, with Maresca clearly not fancying Marc Guiu as an alternative
A lot of these guys desperately need a break, but will have to wait until next week’s Carabao Cup game against Lincoln to get it.
