A supercomputer projects Sunderland to finish 16th on 40 points in the 2026/27 Premier League, according to Betting Lounge.

That follows a standout campaign under Regis Le Bris, whose side finished seventh in their first Premier League season in nine years. A final-day win against Chelsea, coupled with results elsewhere, confirmed Europa League football alongside Bayer Leverkusen, Olympique Marseille, AC Milan and Juventus.

With European nights coming to the Stadium of Light for the first time, focus will also be on progress in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup. A hectic summer window lies ahead as Le Bris and the hierarchy look to strengthen for a demanding year.

At the top, Arsenal are predicted to claim 86 points, with Manchester City on 78 and Liverpool on 75. Manchester United are placed fourth on 68, Chelsea fifth on 66, and Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur both on 63.

Further down, Newcastle United sit eighth on 57 and Brighton ninth on 55, with Bournemouth 10th on 53. Nottingham Forest are 17th on 36, while Hull City, Ipswich Town and Coventry City are tipped to go down with 33, 27 and 24 respectively.
