Premier League 26/27 predictions: Sunderland forecast to finish 16th | OneFootball

Sunderland are set for a historic season with European football at the Stadium of Light, and an early 2026/27 projection has them 16th on 40 points in the Premier League.

According to Sunderland Echo, Arsenal are tipped to lead the table on 86 points, ahead of Manchester City on 78 and Liverpool on 75, with Manchester United on 68.

Chelsea are forecast fifth on 66, with Aston Villa and Tottenham on 63, Newcastle eighth on 57, Brighton ninth on 55 and Bournemouth 10th on 53.

Brentford, Everton, Fulham, Leeds and Crystal Palace follow, while Nottingham Forest are put 17th on 36. Hull City, Ipswich Town and Coventry City are predicted to go down with 33, 27 and 24 respectively.

Regis Le Bris and his squad surpassed expectations last season, taking seventh in the club’s first Premier League campaign in nine years.

A final-day win against Chelsea, combined with results elsewhere, ensured a Europa League berth alongside the likes of Bayer Leverkusen, Olympique Marseille, AC Milan and Juventus.

While the European adventure will draw focus, Le Bris and the hierarchy also aim to make progress in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup, and to match their league achievements. A busy summer window awaits as the squad is readied for a demanding year.
