La Liga giants Barcelona have drawn up a five-player shortlist of defensive targets for the 2026 summer window.

This comes amid ongoing efforts on the part of Deco and co. to find a long-term replacement for Iñigo Martínez.

Stopper Iñigo of course brought a close to his stint in Barcelona colours this past summer, penning terms with Saudi outfit Al-Nassr.

And his absence has since been sorely felt by the Blaugrana…

All of the 34-year-old’s leadership, defensive nous and abilities on the ball have been missed, amid what has been a difficult campaign to date for Hansi Flick’s squad on the defensive side of the ball.

The Camp Nou brass, in turn, have long kicked into gear a search for a new left-sided centre-back.

And in the thick of this search, five names have emerged above all others.

As per a report from Diario Sport, the following stoppers are in the sights of Barcelona with a view to next season:

Dayot Upamecano (Bayern Munich), Marc Guéhi (Crystal Palace), Nico Schlotterbeck (Borussia Dortmund), Tylel Tati (Nantes) and Goncalo Inácio (Sporting CP).
