What are the odds on Spurs, Forest, West Ham or Leeds going down?

Taking the odds as our guide, Spurs, Nottingham Forest and West Ham are in deep trouble but stand a good chance of avoiding the drop. In fact, looking solely at the odds all of the trio have a better chance of of staying up than being relegated.

Leeds, the fourth team in danger, are even more unlikely to exit the Premier League but not out of it yet.

But all this is solely because, assuming Wolves and Burnley are down, there are four teams in the fight and only one of them will go.

Ahead of Premier League matchday 31, Tottenham have a one point lead over West Ham and Nottingham Forest, while Leeds, the other team in danger, are two points clear of Spurs.

Tottenham's current price of 3.35 on the Betfair Exchange Premier League Relegation betting market translates to a 30% chance of going down or, to give it a positive spin, a 70% chance of staying up. Forest are almost the same price as Spurs, at 3.25, a 31% chance of dropping out of the top-flight. West Ham, at 3.15, have a 32% chance of being relegated.

Leeds are the outsiders of the threatened quartet at 6.6 (15%).

Burnley and Wolves, although mathematically still able to dodge relegation, are given  a 97% and 99% chance of suffering the drop down to The Championship.

Premier League Matchday 31 could be pivotal

Right now, West Ham have momentum while the other three are struggling. Following a draw at Anfield and a win in the Champions League, Spurs may have found something at jus thte right time but the game that really matters is this weekend against Forest. A home win would give Tottenham a little breathing space but another defeat, of which there have been many at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this season, could see the Londoners in the bottom three.

That is an extraordinairy sentence to write given the lead they enjoyed earlier in the season when backed at more than 400.0 to go down!

So, with two of the threatened quartet playing each other, this round has the potential to be absolutely pivotal.

Although beaten heavily at Liverpool, West Ham have developed a habit of picking up points and may fancy their chances of doing it again away to an out-of-form Aston Villa.

Leeds, without a win in their last five League games, will be desperate to turn the tide at home to Brentford on Saturday evening.

What seems certain that we will see a significant shake-up in the Premier League relegation odds this weekend.

But with another six rounds of Premier League action to follow we will doubtless see yet more twists and turns over the final few weeks.

And it will almost certainly end with one of these four grand old clubs leaving the Premier League.
