Our best XI from the Premier League weekend is dominated by Nottingham Forest and West Ham after big wins for the relegation rivals.
A really solid showing from the Czech shot-stopper, who has recovered well from his Champions League nightmare last month. Kinsky thwarted Adam Armstrong when required and showed confidence with his work throughout at Wolves.
Hurt himself making a last-gasp stop to salvage an important clean sheet and three points for Spurs.
Jones picked up where he left off last weekend with another accomplished performance as Liverpool’s auxiliary right-back. He dealt well with Crystal Palace’s forward threat and was crucial to Liverpool’s build-up from the back. A defence-splitting pass released Andy Robertson as Liverpool struck a second on the counter.
A monstrous performance from the Serbian centre-back who mopped up all danger at Sunderland. Milenkovic made a massive 15 clearances at the Stadium of Light and was a dominant presence in the air and on the ground.
Fulham kept alive hopes of European football with a 1-0 win over Aston Villa. Joachim Andersen racked up the numbers defensively for Fulham, making seven clearances and winning every aerial duel he contested (3/3). There were some nervy moments, but this was a job well done.
There aren’t many better crossers of a football in the Premier League right now. Diouf might leave some space that can be exposed, but his forward qualities are right up there. The left-back created five chances in the win over Everton, with his balls into the box leading to the winner. He didn’t shirk his defensive work either, with five tackles and nine ground duels won.
An unlikely hero for Spurs to secure the club’s first Premier League win of 2026. The substitute added some much-needed bite after his introduction and was in the right place at the right time to steer in a massive goal for Roberto De Zerbi’s team.
Quite literally, everywhere. Tomas Soucek headed in the opener during West Ham’s win over Everton and was in the right place at the right time to make a goal-line clearance at the other end. In between, he covered every blade of grass. A cult hero for a reason.
Are you watching, Thomas Tuchel?
That’s seven goals in seven Premier League games for Morgan Gibbs-White, who was again at the centre of another Forest win.
He slid in a pass for Chris Wood to double the lead as Forest ran riot at the Stadium of Light, before slamming in the third with a crisp finish. He’s come alive in the run-in, just when Forest have needed him.
Another player having a huge say on this season’s relegation battle. Jarrod Bowen assisted both goals as West Ham kept above the drop zone by beating Everton. He’s now been directly involved in nine of the club’s last 11 goals at the London Stadium. Irreplaceable.
Eberechi Eze has had better games than this, but the summer signing showed why he was signed to be a difference-maker.
A wonderful whipped finish secured Arsenal a 1-0 win over Newcastle and moved the Gunners back to the summit. The title race is going down to the wire.
Jesus has benefited from Chris Wood’s return and was central to Nottingham Forest’s big win at Sunderland.
He forced the own-goal opener from Trai Hume before intelligently nodding down for Gibbs-White to fire in the third. The Brazilian got the goal his performance deserved with a fantastic first-time finish to make it four before half-time.
