Some interesting odds on Premier League top five for the 2024/25 season where Newcastle United are concerned.
With bookies taking stock after Sunday’s matches, regarding those chasing Champions League places.
Forest clinging on to a 2-1 win at West Ham.
Whilst Newcastle United could and should have had the game won at the Emirates by half-time, Raya man of the match and NUFC not having the clinical finishing, then Declan Rice scoring a long range effort to win the game in the second half.
The bookies always have a market for finishing Premier League top four but a lot of the major bookies have now also introduced a market on who will finish Premier League top five.
With of course five PL clubs to qualify via their domestic league position for the Champions League.
The bookies and punters reacting to how things now stand in the Premier League table (see below), as well of course, how they are now seeing the underlying strengths of the various teams and squads.
Listed below are the general Premier League odds now (Monday 19 May 2025) available from the various bookies for the 2024/25 season
Firstly though, this is how the Premier League table now looks on Monday 19 May 2025:
Bookies odds to finish Premier League top five:
Liverpool – Guaranteed top five
Arsenal – Guaranteed top five
1/7 Man City
1/5 Newcastle United
4/7 Chelsea
11/10 Villa
4/1 Forest
As you can see the bookies and punters still seeing Newcastle United as a massive odds on (1/5) chance to get top five and Champions League football. I think the fact that Arsenal were favourites to win at home against Newcastle means that it hasn’t had a big impact on the NUFC odds, with Eddie Howe’s side big odds-on favourites to win at home against Everton.
Bookies odds to finish Premier League top four (odds in brackets are the odds available before Friday’s results):
Liverpool now guaranteed top four
Arsenal now guaranteed top four
1/3 Newcastle United
1/3 Man City
2/1 Chelsea
4/1 Villa
14/1 Forest
A similar story when it comes to odds on finishing top four, Newcastle United and Man City still the ones most fancied by bookies and punters to join Liverpool and Arsenal in the top quartet. Which they will do, if United beat Everton and Man City get at least four points from their remaining two matches.
