Coach Igor Tudor, Nico Gonzalez, Khephren Thuram and Randal Kolo Muani spoke to the press after Juventus’ 2-0 win against Monza on Matchday 34 of the Serie A season.
“I am very satisfied with both the first and second halves, which were different: we dominated the first half, the second was a more controlled performance, but we knew how to stay in control, and showed a strong desire not to concede goals. We lost against Parma, but it was the night when we conceded fewer opportunities, compared to against other opponents. We lost, this must be accepted and considered a step of growth, also for what happened in the days prior. These are situations that, perhaps, to a more experienced team, create fewer problems, we are young and everything must be considered a passage of growth. Today the lads put in a good performance and we are preparing for the final matches of the season, and now we are only thinking about Bologna: we want to go and face them and show that we are stronger. Then there are many factors to take into account, like the moment in which you face an opponent, and the Parma match is just the example of that. [Kenan] Yildiz? He was very sad, because he's a really good guy. I liked Kolo Muani’s performance a lot, especially from an attitude perspective: he was able to understand the match well, it was a complete performance.”
“I'm sorry for Kenan [Yildiz], he's a good guy and I'm sure he didn't do it on purpose, you can see he's a good person. In the second half we showed that we were a real group, a united team, all together, and that's why we won. Against Bologna it will be a very difficult and complicated challenge: I know [Vincenzo] Italiano, I know his teams play good football, it will be an intense game, and we hope to do well, then at the end we'll see what we can achieve. Rediscovered the desire to run? That has never been lacking.”
“In the first half the game was going well, we played very well both with the ball and without it, creating several chances. In the second half I don't think we suffered too much, but playing with ten men was certainly more difficult. Now Bologna await us, we know it could be a decisive match like the one against Lazio: all the matches between now and the end of the season are very important for us, because we want to qualify for the Champions League. We have to win as many games as possible.”
“I remained calm as I went through the period without scoring, I didn’t get anxious. The important thing was to win today's game, no matter if I score or not. My future? I am happy to be able to help the team, both when I play and when I don't, because I am always at the disposal of this group. The goal of every player is to win. Now we have to think about Bologna: we need points to reach the Champions League, we have to take one match at a time and always focus on the next challenge.”
