Crystal Palace host Sunderland at Selhurst Park this Saturday in matchweek four of the Premier League.
The Eagles will be looking to maintain their unbeaten start to the 2025-26 campaign as they take on Sunderland, who have returned to the top flight following promotion.
The sides haven’t faced each other in the league since February 2017, when the Black Cats ran riot with four first-half goals to secure a commanding 4-0 win at Selhurst Park.
Jay Crame (The Eagles Beak): It's been a hectic start to the season for the Eagles, but we remain on a fantastic unbeaten run which hopefully Oliver Glasner can mastermind a way of continuing - despite the injuries to contend with. There are also new additions to ingetrate into the squad, as we get back into a busy season for Palace, and one that we have not seen the likes of before. Injuries to Adam Wharton and Ismaila Sarr do not appear as bad as first feared and while neither of them may feature in this fixture, they could be available for Liverpool next weekend. I'm excited to see the new signings make an appearance to see what they can add to what is a talented bunch, but one that has shown a real togetherness.
We still have nightmares from the last visit Sunderland made to Selhurst, and while both clubs have come a long way since then, it would be nice to banish those night terrors once and for all.
Prediction: 2-0
Graham Falk (WTF Sunderland Podcast): After winning two of our opening three games, things feel insanely positive at Sunderland. For almost the entirety of the summer months, I wanted to live within my own little playoff bubble, and those dramatic last minute goals that will live in my head forever. I wasn't sure if I really wanted the season to start. But then it did, and things have been great. If I put my realist's head on, though, Crystal Palace away is our toughest test yet. A team who have had their own outstanding few months, on their own park, is never going to be easy. But when you're on the positivity train, it's hard to get off. Let's go give another good account of ourselves, what's the worst that could happen?
