Hull City and Coventry City face each other this Monday at the MKM Stadium in Matchweek 42 of the EFL Championship. The match will be broadcast live at 20:00 on Sky Sports Football.

The Tigers have won 44 points to date and are precariously placed in 19th position, Ruben Selles no doubt looking for a response from his team after their 1-0 defeat to Watford last time out.

Coventry, meanwhile, have 62 points to their name this season and sit snugly within the play-off spots in sixth. In their last match, Frank Lampard's team prevailed 1-0 against a Portsmouth side who are struggling on their travels at the moment.

The last meeting between the Tigers and the Sky Blues ended in a 2-1 Coventry win

The Fan Zone

Joe Collins : Wow, it’s tight down at the bottom! Saturday’s results put us just two points outside the drop zone. I don’t want to be in my Portsmouth hotel room before the final game of the season staring a last-day decider in the face, but I get the feeling that’s the way we’re heading.

Last time out, we were poor. Created very little, tested Watford’s goalkeeper once and nearly conceded straight after kick off again. Rubén Sellés has described us as being ‘competitive’ in each of the last three, but I think we have been awful since we returned from the international break.

Coventry won’t be easy, especially given our home form, but it’s exactly the sort of tie I can see us taking something from.

Call me deluded all you like, but there’s a saying in these parts. That saying is ‘Typical City.’

Prediction: 0-1

Ross Cooper (Sky Blues Extra ): A big game for the Sky Blues on Monday evening away at Hull City. After the dramatic late winner against Portmsouth in midweek, this game will pose another very difficult test against another side battling for their Championship survival. It is a game that we need to win, especially seeing how other results went on Saturday. Basically, three points in Hull would create a five point buffer to 7th place. so there certainly is an incentive to go and get the win.

Performance needs to be a bit better though, the last few games haven't been as free flowing as some had been prior, but ultimately it is the result that matters most.

Team wise, Victor Torp will be unavailable after being stretchered off against Portsmouth. Him joining the injured Josh Eccles means our central midfield options are a bit lighter, but there is still enough creativity and flair to cause the opposition problems.

Prediction: 1-1
