Sheffield United and Watford face off at Bramall Lane this Saturday as Championship action returns after the international break.
The Blades find themselves bottom of the table with just three points from nine games, having lost 1-0 to Hull City last time out.
Watford, meanwhile, sit mid-table in 11th on 12 points and will be led once again by Javi Gracia, who begins his second spell in charge following Paulo Pezzolano’s departure.
The last meeting went Sheffield United’s way with a 2-1 win, but the visitors will fancy their chances of a fresh start under familiar management.
Theo (Allthingsblades): After another international break, United return to Championship football and host Watford at Bramall Lane on Saturday.
The Blades have lost every match at their home stadium this season and will be looking to put the poor start to the season in the past and kickstart their season once and for all, but it certainly won’t be easy.
After the late heartbreak at the MKM last time out, with a Harrison Burrows penalty miss, United are now four points off of safety but have three games in the next six days to get things going.
I think the international break will have done us some good to allow the team to gel and Wilder to find his strongest XI. It feels like another must win game and the Blades simply have to prove why no one should write them off yet.
Prediction: 2-1
James Batchelor (TheWatfordWay): Watford make the trip to Bramall Lane to face Sheffield United as Javi Gracia begins his second stint in charge of the Hornets, while Chris Wilder comes up against his former club.
Our cheerful Spaniard is back in the dugout, and Watford fans couldn’t be more delighted - the season truly starts now. Aside from Giorgi Chakvetadze, the Hornets head into this game with a fully fit squad.
During Javi’s first spell at the club, he often set the team up in a 4-4-2 - or more specifically, a 4-2-2-2 - formation. At Leeds, however, he tended to favour a 4-3-3 setup, while this season under Paulo Pezzolano Watford primarily operated with a back five.
There are no doubts that if Watford are successful this season, Javi will have firmly cemented himself as one of the club’s greats - and I’m sure he’ll be happily sipping his sangria if we achieve promotion.
