Swansea City host Watford at the Swansea.com Stadium this Saturday, with a 12:30 kick-off live on Sky Sports+.
The Swans got off to a shaky start this season in a 1-0 loss at Middlesbrough on the opening weekend. They bounced back last weekend, though, claiming a narrow 1-0 victory over last season’s playoff finalists, Sheffield United.
The Hornets, meanwhile, stumbled out of the blocks themselves. Paulo Pezzolano’s men were beaten 1–0 by Charlton on the opening day, but they responded well to pick up their first points of the campaign with a win at QPR.
The last time these two met, it was Watford who came away with a 1-0 win.
James Batchelor (TheWatfordWay): Watford make the trip to Wales in Saturday’s early kick-off to face Swansea City. Paulo Pezzolano secured his first victory in charge with an impressive performance against QPR last weekend. However, the Hornets will be without key midfielder Imran Louza, who was sent off late in that match and now begins a three-game suspension.
There were positives to take, with Nestory Irankunda registering his first assist for the club and new Danish striker Luca Kjerrumgaard opening his account with a well-taken brace. Watford also deployed a 3-5-2 system for the first time this season, a tactical shift that caused real problems for the Rangers’ defence. It would be no surprise to see Pezzolano continue with that setup against Swansea.
Prediction: 0-2
