Tottenham Hotspur host Aston Villa in North London on Sunday afternoon [14:00 BST], as Thomas Frank searches for his first victory over Unai Emery having failed to beat the Spaniard in the Premier League in five attempts – drawing three and losing twice.

Before the international break, Spurs beat Leeds 2-1 while Villa earned the same result against Burnley.

Villa will head to North London aiming for a fifth win in a row in all competitions and should have confidence given they have won eight of their last ten matches following an international break

They are also looking to secure a third consecutive victory over Spurs, having beaten them twice last season, included a 2-1 win in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

The two sides have met 157 times, with Spurs winning 70, Aston Villa 55, and 32 ending in draws.

None of the last 20 matches in the Premier League between Spurs and Villa have been drawn since a 1-1 draw in 2012.

Spurs sit 5th in the Premier League while Aston Villa sit five points behind in 13th place. Both teams will be aiming for all three points when they face off on Sunday afternoon.

Thomas Frank’s men will be hoping to build on their strong start to the league with their last loss against Bournemouth in August.

Emery will be without three players as they travel to North London, with Tyrone Mings (ankle), Jadon Sancho (illness), and Youri Tielemans (calf) all out with injuries.

Meanwhile ,The Lilywhites will be without Dejan Kulusevski (knee), James Maddison (ACL), Radu Drăgușin (knee), Kolo Muani (thigh), and Yves Bissouma is a doubt due to fitness issues.

The match will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Main Event in the UK, with a kick-off time of 14:00 [BST].
