West Bromwich host Sheffield Wednesday at The Hawthorns this Saturday in the Championship, with kick-off at 12:30 live on Sky Sports +.
The Baggies sit 11th on 17 points but have slipped slightly after back-to-back defeats, leaving Ryan Mason’s side just two points shy of the play-off places. They will be eager to get back to winning ways on home soil.
Sheffield Wednesday, meanwhile, continue to battle against the odds. The Owls are at the foot of the table on -6 points following a 12-point deduction after entering administration, and last time out they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Oxford United.
The last meeting between the two sides ended in a 2-1 win for West Brom, setting up another potentially tense clash at The Hawthorns.
AllAlbionFans (AllAlbionFans): Bottom of the league at home on paper is your easiest game of the season.
The Owls don’t lie down though and the fanbase are on a high over recent developments so will push the team on. In six away games they haven’t been beaten by more than one goal. This will be tougher than most expect.
We have some players injured and even more just coming back from injury.
After back to back away defeats it’s an important three points to pick up.
November is much nicer for us with four home games and a promoted side in Charlton in one of the two aways.
We should be moving back into the top 6 during this period.
Prediction: 2-0
James Mappin (The WTID Podcast): At the moment, and I speak on behalf of the fanbase here, are riding on sheer positivity at the moment. We're rock bottom, on minus six points and have only won one game all season - but as I keep saying in this pieces, this is more than the game of football. The football is largely irrelevant. We're just glad that we've got our Wednesday back.
Yes we're in admin. Yes we've got a threadbare squad. Yes it's going to be difficult. But away from home we're not actually that bad. We haven't failed to score away from home, which is a stark contrast to only scoring two at Hillsborough, and I think that will carry on this weekend too.
Prediction: 1-1
