Manchester City have now engaged in direct communication with PSG over the transfer of Gianluigi Donnarumma over the last 48 hours, it is being reported in Italy.

Donnarumma has reportedly agreed personal terms to complete a sensational switch to the Etihad Stadium in the final weeks of the transfer window after an ugly parting of ways with Paris Saint-Germain over a contract dispute.

The 26-year-old is understood to be demanding wages in the vicinity of £250,000-per-week at the Etihad Stadium, with Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola believed to have spoken directly with the Italy international to give his seal of approval for a transfer.

Paris Saint-Germain are rumoured to have slapped a €50 million price tag on their out-of-favour number one, who played an instrumental in their maiden UEFA Champions League winning campaign last term.

However, with Donnarumma entering the final year of his current deal at the Parc des Princes, Paris Saint-Germain’s stance on their valuation is likely to soften as we approach the September 1 transfer deadline.

After revamping their goalkeeping department this summer with the additions of James Trafford and Marcus Bettinelli, Manchester City have identified Donnarumma as a potent replacement for Ederson, who is keen on joining Galatasaray.

Galatasaray are in negotiations with Manchester City over Ederson, who is himself entering the last 12 months of his contract at the Etihad Stadium and is looking for a new challenge after eight seasons in England.

City do not wish to sell Ederson but would be willing to sanction a sale for the 31-year-old Brazilian if their valuation is met, which would subsequently open the door for their pursuit of Donnarumma to progress.

According to the information of journalist Alfredo Pedulla, as translated and relayed by Sport Witness, Manchester City have now been in ‘close and direct talks’ for the first time with PSG over the last 48 hours in an attempt to seal a deal for Donnarumma.

Most significantly, it is claimed that both parties have also expressed a strong desire to find an agreement over the Italian goalkeeper, with PSG wanting €45 million to €50 million to sell despite City being unlikely to meet that price tag.

Nevertheless, it is stressed that there is a belief that a middle ground can be reached between the two clubs over the 26-year-old, with Ederson’s move to Galatasaray granting City more funds to sign the UEFA Champions League-winning goalkeeper of last season.

Galatasaray have reportedly set a deadline of the end of this week for Manchester City to accept a fee for Ederson, having seen an opening bid of €10 million for the former Benfica man rebuffed by officials at the Etihad Stadium.
