FC Barcelona will have to contend with some serious competitors this summer. While the season itself will reveal tough competitors for titles, the current competition is all about transfers and market opportunities. Unfortunately for Barcelona, they are not as financially well-armed as they would have liked to be.

As a consequence of this, the Catalan giants are forced to compete against other sides with much stronger resources. However, through the sheer pedigree and value of the Barcelona crest, the club has managed to sort out unusual deals in the recent past as well.

However, their current priority target may no longer be as guaranteed an arrival as many would have previously thought. Nico Williams, the 22-year-old Athletic Club star who has been Barça’s main priority this summer following his great campaign in the European Championship, but the player is now on PSG’s radar as well.

Previously, it was reported that PSG’s interest in the player was keeping Barcelona a bit cautious. Now, however, it has been revealed that the interest from the Parisian club is truly strong. According to the latest information provided by SPORT, PSG head coach and former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique is adamant about bringing Nico Williams to Paris.

Moreover, the Parisian club is even willing to double whatever Barcelona is currently offering to the player. It is no secret that they have the financial means to do so, and it has also been reported that the young winger has already been made aware of this interest and has the details of the offer as well.

For Barcelona, however, there are a few factors that continue to work in their favor. The competition of La Liga and the familiarity of getting to play in Spain will possibly attract the young Spanish winger. Moreover, since many of his international teammates are also in Barça, that could help cement his arrival as well.
