Liverpool center back Ibrahima Konaté hasn’t agreed to a contract extension with the Reds this summer, sparking rumors about a possible transfer. Both PSG and Real Madrid have been linked with the defender.
Diario AS reported that Real Madrid are interested in signing Konaté but only if Liverpool lowers their price. The Spanish club is said to be willing to offer between €20 million and €25 million, while Liverpool are holding out for around €50 million.
Since Konaté is reportedly open to a move, Madrid might prefer to wait until 2026 when he could leave on a free transfer rather than meeting Liverpool’s asking price now.
Meanwhile, Foot Mercato revealed Konaté has been offered to several top European clubs, including PSG, Real Madrid, and Barcelona, which could increase the chances of a transfer once his contract runs out.

Journalist Abdellah Boulma reported Friday that Liverpool are still in talks with Konaté over a contract extension. While no deal is finalized yet, the French defender is happy at the club and wants to stay.
Last month, journalist David Lynch, who covers everything Liverpool FC, recently weighed in on the situation surrounding Konaté. He discussed whether the defender is likely to sign a new deal to stay at Liverpool or consider a move elsewhere, with clubs like PSG and Real Madrid reportedly keeping an eye on him.
“Real Madrid are clearly interested aren’t they – there is no question about that! But speaking to people close to Konaté, I still get the feeling that his priority is to renew with Liverpool and there are talks there, but it is kind of stuck at the moment,” Lynch said on the Sports Mole YouTube channel.
“I don’t think it has reached the point of no return and the player has definitely decided he wants to go to Real Madrid, I don’t get that feeling at all. That’s not to say that it won’t end in that way because that possibility is 100 percent on the table, but we are still in the moment where there is hope there will be a breakthrough.”
