Arsenal are moving quickly to lock down William Saliba, who has become a cornerstone of their defense. The Gunners have offered the French center-back an improved contract extension to fend off interest from Europe’s elite clubs.

CaughtOffside recently reported that Real Madrid are closely monitoring Saliba’s situation, seemingly waiting for either his contract to run down or Arsenal to face pressure to sell.

The report suggests Madrid could view the 2026‑2027 season as the perfect time to make a serious move. Meanwhile, PSG are also keeping tabs on Saliba, though a return to Ligue 1 doesn’t seem likely anytime soon.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein reports that Saliba has agreed to a new five-year contract with Arsenal, which is expected to be finalized soon.

Recently, El Desmarque reported that Real Madrid are prepared to enter talks with Arsenal to sign Saliba. The defender is reportedly “open to a new project” and carries a price tag of €80 million.

Nonetheless, that probably was a bluff to leverage Real Madrid’s interest in the Frenchman to ensure that he gets favorable terms with the Gunners that align with his status as arguably one of the best defenders in the Premier League.
