Paris Saint-Germain will play their second consecutive Champions League final on Saturday, May 30, after winning last year.
Luis Enrique’s team is a near-perfect machine: the Parisians are searching for a goalkeeper suited to the Spanish coach’s demands, and Mile Svilar is reportedly among the names being considered.
Last summer, PSG had decided to focus entirely on Lucas Chevalier, but the Frenchman disappointed expectations, and second-choice goalkeeper Matvey Safonov rose through the ranks, effectively becoming the starting goalkeeper.
The French club will return to the search for a top-notch goalkeeper in the next transfer window.
PSG’s first choice isn’t Mile Svilar, but Portuguese goalkeeper Diogo Costa.
The Porto goalkeeper has a €60 million release clause, and the parties involved have reportedly already held preliminary discussions to assess the feasibility of the deal.
Other names on the list, according to sport.fr, include Gregor Kobel, Bart Verbruggen, Anatoliy Trubin, Elia Caprile, and the Giallorossi goalkeeper. The latter has achieved the highest save percentage in Serie A and is now in the sights of top clubs.
